GEMTEX 691-40

GEMTEX 691-40 is the emulsifier of choice for styrene-butadiene latex systems, including modified types employing vinyl functional acids and crosslinking agents. Conversion is high and coagulum low. With one of the highest CMC values of the widely used emulsion polymerization surfactants, plus high surface tension, GEMTEX 691-40 does not generate large numbers of particles at satisfactory polymerization rates and provides excellent mechanical stability. The combination of properties permits GEMTEX 691-40 to be used successfully as a post additive for latex systems to provide additional mechanical stability without affecting the surface tension.
